Ku-Ring-Gai Veterinary Hospital Facility Upgrades

Ku-Ring-gai Veterinary Hospital is pleased to announce some significant facility upgrades with the installation of a new Hospital wide air conditioning system, as well as an ultrasound unit renewal. These improvements will help provide a more environmentally friendly and better caring environment for our patients.

Throughout the month of February Ku-Ring-Gai veterinary Hospital has been upgrading their air-conditioning system throughout the Hospital to install a higher-rated, energy saving air-conditioning unit. The new system operates on a reverse cycle inverter system and will provide an even better temperature control within the whole building, as well as help to improve the Hospitals energy efficiency level on a daily basis. The majority of the installation process has been undertaken at night by a company called Active Air conditioning, and despite three sets of crane lifts to move the new air conditioning equipment onto the roof of the building, there has been minimum disruption to Hospital and its patients.

Practice partner, Dr Angus Ross believes that this new climate control is a step forward in helping sick patients to recuperate more comfortably, and will also help the control of bacteria and disease in sterile areas of the hospital including surgery, which tend to thrive in warm, moist environments.

Ku-Ring-Gai Veterinary Hospital is also eagerly anticipating the arrival of a new ultrasound machine which is the latest of the Phillips HDI systems. This ultrasound machine is the same grade of machine found in human Hospitals and promises to provide the next generation of ultrasound resolution in pets. “This will further complement our already significant skills and experience in primary and referral ultrasonography and will help us better diagnose more complicated cardiac, abdominal and musculoskeletal conditions” said Dr Ross.
